William "Bill" Stewart Jennings

William Stewart Jennings 73 of Hickory, NC passed away on May 9, 2016 at Catawba Regional Hospice in Newton, NC.  Born October 30, 1942 in Plainfield he was the son of the late Norman and Frances Jennings.  William was employed by Kraft Foods as a sales representative for over 25 years.  His passion was music, an accomplished guitarist, composer, writer and singer.  He was a lifelong member of ASCAP and was president of the local musicians union.  He owned and operated a recording studio and was a published composer with his music being featured in numerous movies and commercials.  William is predeceased by his daughter Cara Rose Jennings. He is survived by his wife of 49 years JoAnn Cembrola Jennings, his son Christopher W. Jennings of Hickory, NC, grandsons Nicolas and Brandon Jennings of Hickory, NC, sister Barbara Rastall of Lanoka Harbour, NJ and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday May 23, from 4:00 – 8:30 pm at Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place, North Plainfield, NJ.  Funeral Mass Tuesday May 24, 10:00 am at St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Plainfield.  Internment to follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ. Memorial donations may be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658 in William’s name.
