Warren V O'Neil

Warren V. O’Neil 91, died on May 26, 2017 at RWJ Somerset Hospital.  Funeral Mass will be Wed May 31, 10 am at St. Joseph RC Church, N. Plainfield.  Burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery S. Plainfield. Visiting hours Tues, May 30, 2-4 and 7-9pm at Scarpa-Las Rosas FH, 22 Craig Place, N. Plainfield.  Mr. O’Neil was born in Kaska, PA on 8/14/1925. He graduated Blythe Twp HS in PA in 1944 where he played football, basketball and baseball for 4 years.  Mr. O’Neil was a WWII  veteran serving in the 3rd Army Headquarters Engineering Section 1944-1947.  Warren worked as a Chemical Operator for Union Carbide-Dow Chemicals for over 30 years.  He was past Grand-Knight for Watchung Council 552, Member of N. Plainfield Senior Citizens, past treasurer and Chaplin and Member of American Legion Post 306 John W. Lupu Mem’l Middlesex.  He was predeceased by his mother, father, 5 sisters, 4 brothers, daughter Mary and wife Theresa and lifes partner Dolores DeCarlo.  Surviving is son Vincent O’Neill and his wife Jan of Edmond, Oklahoma, daughter Denise Sturtevant and husband Richard of Inverness, Florida, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Joseph RC Church North Plainfield or Knights of Columbus Watchung Council.
