Theresa M. Karfo

Theresa M. Karfo age 90 passed away peacefully at her home in New Providence on February 4, 2017.  Mrs. Karfo was born in St. Severin Switzerland and at 22 came to the US and resided in upstate NY, Ft. Lee, NJ and San Francisco when she married her loving husband of 58 years John Karfo before settling in New Providence for the last 45 years.  Mrs. Karfo was a hairdresser by profession and worked for the prestigious Elizabeth Arden Salons of NYC for many years.  She also assisted her husband John in his architectural business helping create intricate topographical models.  She also enjoyed cooking but her true passion was her family.   Mrs. Karfo is predeceased by her brothers Andre, Paul, Bernard and George Valentini and sister Germaine Buthet.  Mrs. Karfo is survived by her husband John Karfo, daughter Bettina Parillo of New Providence, grandchildren Arista and Michael and brother Joseph Valentini of Switzerland.  Visitation will be Friday February 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Scarpa Las Rosas FH, 22 Craig Place, N. Plainfield, NJ.  Funeral will begin Saturday February 11, 9:45 am from the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 10:45am at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin in Middlesex.
