Stephen Chak, 93 of North Plainfield, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2016 at Norwood Terrrace Rehabilitation Center in Plainfield. Stephen was born in NYC. He moved to NJ and resided in North Plainfield for 63 years with his wife, Mickey. Steve was a Navy Seebee during World War II, serving 4-1/2 years overseas. He was a steel worker for over 42 years, including working on the Verrazano Bridge. He was also a custodian for the Warren County School District. Steve was an avid fisherman and hunter, but his true passion was his love for his family. He is survived by his wife, Mickey (Zoppo), daughter Paula Fojtlin and her husband Dennis of Annandale and grandson Matthew. Services were private and entrusted to Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home, North Plainfield. A Memorial donation can be made to the Arthritis Foundation.org in his honor.
