Rose M Derosa

Rose M. De Rosa, age 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep March 29, 2019 at the Woodlands Nursing Facility in Plainfield, NJ.  She was born in Bayonne NJ on May 16, 1922 to Silvio and Ida DeCarlo.

Rose, widowed at an early age raised three small children. She was a true renaissance woman. She was an avid gardener growing many different vegetables and beautiful flower gardens. An excellent Seamstress she took pleasure in sewing outfits for her family, she also had her own tool draw and would fix things around the home that needed repair.

She was a loving Mother and always found time for her children and family.  There was always music, laughter and happiness in her home. Her house was where all her children friends gathered and enjoyed Friday night homemade pizza.  It was a home filled with love for all.

Rose was employed as a full charge bookkeeper for Garden State Materials for many years and then for  Lubeck Electric until her retirement.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest DeRosa Sr., her daughter Contstance DeRosa, her Son Ernest DeRosa Jr., her sister Antoinette Jakob, and brothers Vincent DeCarlo and John DeCarlo.

Surviving are her daughter Gabrielle Aiello and her husband Michael Aiello of Pocono Lake, PA, her grandson, Thomas Aiello of Scotch Plains, NJ., many nieces and nephews and her extended family of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place, North Plainfield , NJ from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a private burial on Friday, April 5, 2019.
