Rachel Russo Ciotta

Rachel “Russo” Ciotta 96, died Monday December 11, 2017 at home. Mrs. Ciotta was born and raised in Plainfield and lived in Dunellen 20 years before moving to Edenton, NC in 2009. She was a retired seamstress working for Bronson Hat Company of Plainfield. Rachel was a member of the Women’s Club of St. Anne’s RC Church in Edenton, NC.
Her husband James Ciotta died in 1975. Surviving are a son Pat and wife Lucy Ciotta of Gladstone, NJ, a daughter Florence and husband George Lawrence of Edenton, NC. Also surviving are six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Services will start Monday, 9:00 am from Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home followed by a 10:30 am Mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Piscataway. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains. Visiting hours are Sunday 6-9 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
