Providencia Ramirez, 80, of North Plainfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 27, 2024. She was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She was the devoted mother of Fernando "Tito" Otero, Rosa I. Rodriguez, Carmen "Julie" Lesce, and Jose Otero. Providencia is survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. When Providencia came from Puerto Rico to New York to provide for her 4 children she went to work in a factory in NJ. She wanted to better herself, so she started taking English classes at night in Man Power on 106th Street in Manhattan. After she studied to take her GED and pass, she continued her education at Hostos Community College. She wanted to teach her children that nothing is impossible if you work hard. Providencia showed her love by cooking for her family, especially "Arroz con Gandules". She had a great sense of humor, and she loved to play dominoes and cards with everyone. She enjoyed trees, her son "Tito" would pick her up and take her to Central Park, Grand Central Station for the day. She was always well put together her skin moisturized, pink nail polish and a scent of her favorite perfume. She will be truly missed by her loving family.
