Pedro Luis Estevez, 79, of Plainfield passed away on December 12, 2024. He is the devoted husband of Lubia Perez De Estevez. Loving father of Eduardo Estevez, Alberto Estevez, Susana Vanessa Berardi and Christian Estevez. Dear grandfather of Kassandra, Alberto Miguel, Michelle, Christian Enrique, Michael and Joseph. Cherished great grandfather of George and Lilly.
Pedro lived at the Richmond Towers Senior Housing Center in Plainfield, New Jersey where he served as president of the Richmond Towers Resident Association. He worked tirelessly to ensure that all residents’ needs were attended to, coordinating food deliveries from the local food bank and organizing medical visits for seniors who had difficulty traveling. Pedro also served the broader community as a commissioner on the Plainfield Municipal Utilities Authority and the Green Brook Flood Control Commission. He was also elected to the Plainfield Democratic Committee representing the Third District of the city’s First Ward. When not serving his community, Pedro enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, driving them to their activities and helping them with their Boy Scout projects. He loved watching old western movies and listening to crooners like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.
Family and friends are welcome to visit on Sunday, December 22nd from 1-5pm in Scarpa Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place, North Plainfield.
Private cremation will follow.
