Margaret Taranta

Margaret (Meg) Taranta, 63, passed away April 22, 2021 at Jersey Shore Hospital, Neptune NJ.  Meg was born on April 9, 1958 in Clinton, NJ.  She graduated from Westfield Senior High School Class of “76 and from Drew University, where she majored in English Literature and Political Science, in 1980.  She worked in the perfume industry for several years until changing course and entering the compliance arena, where she worked until her passing.

Meg was a prolific and eloquent writer, a huge lover of all animals and the mother of two wonderful, loving sons. She loved opera and was an avid sports fan who could remember statistics for all sports going back to her childhood. She was a devoted daughter to her parents Joseph and Paula Taranta, until their passing.

Meg is survived by her sons Peter Taranta (Brandon Brown) of Houston, TX and Andrew Taranta of Manalapan, NJ, and her sister Carrie Wayne (Ron) of Hamilton, NJ.

A memorial service will be held at Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place, North Plainfield, NJ on Friday, April 30 from 10 am – 12 pm.  Burial will follow immediately at Fairview Cemetery, 1100 E. Broad Street, Westfield, NJ.  A celebration of Meg’s Life will be held at a later date when COVID19 restrictions are lifted fully.
