Linda Radice

June 10, 1952 — February 25, 2017

Linda Radice, 64, of North Plainfield, passed away at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ on
Saturday, February 25, 2017 from sudden complications caused by blood clots after a long and
courageous battle with cancer.

A lifelong resident of North Plainfield, NJ, she is survived by her husband Sam Barnes, her
daughter Lorraine Radice Vitiello, her son-in-law Jesse Vitiello, her granddaughter Madison
Vitiello, her son Andrew Radice, Andrew's partner Kimberly Melendez, and her grandson Miles
Radice. An animal lover, Linda also shared her life and love with her rescued furbabies, her
poodle Zia and her cat Sonnet.

First and always, Linda was a devoted wife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother. At the
center of her family, immediate and extended, she was a constant source of support and
nurturing. A paralegal for over thirty years, Linda also ran her own antiques business and was an
award-winning poet and essayist whose work appeared in numerous journals and anthologies.
She was a Pushcart Prize nominee and an Allen Ginsberg Prize recipient.

A long-time member of the Fanwood Arts Council at the Kuran Arts Center in Fanwood, NJ,
Linda was also associate poetry editor of Tiferet Journal and a popular reader at art centers and
other poetry venues throughout the state. As author of The Crabby Lady Chronicles, her wit and

A wake will be held at Scarpa Las Rosas Funeral Home (22 Craig Place North Plainfield, NJ) on
Wednesday, March 1st from 2-4 and from 7-9 PM. A requiem Mass will be offered at
St. Joseph Church (Corner of Watchung Avenue and Jackson Avenue, North Plainfield) on
Thursday March 2nd at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery (1734 Clinton Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ).
