Lillian M Moran

Lillian M. Moran was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She passed away at home on Sunday February 7, 2021.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, North Plainfield.

Born August 13, 1928 on Staten Island, New York, Lillian was one of six daughters of Arthur and Peg Quaranta.  She graduated from Notre Dame Academy, on the Island.

Lillian always loved the ocean and the beach. As a child, her family spent their summers at Cedar Grove Beach Club.  This is where she met her husband of 59 years.  After marrying John R. Moran in 1949, and raising their three children on Staten Island, they moved to Dallas,Texas. They also lived in Honolulu, Hawaii then settled in Plainfield, NJ for 44 years.

Lillian was predeceased by her husband, her son Thomas J. Moran and her beloved sisters.  She is survived by her children John R. Moran, Jr. (Kathy), Bess Moran Zampella (Tony); daughter-in-law Joan; grandchildren Lisa (Chris), John (Lisa), A.J. (Nicole), and great grandchildren Kevin, Molly, and Brian.

Private arrangements by Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home, North Plainfield.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 11 at 10:00 am, St. Joseph’s Church, Jackson Avenue, North Plainfield,  Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to:  North Plainfield Exempt Fire Museum, 300 Somerset Street, North Plainfield, NJ 07060.  Concern U.S.A., 355 Lexington Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10017.
