Florence Virginia Meeker

Florence Virginia Meeker, age 99, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Born September 18, 1918 in Newark, NJ, Florence was the daughter of Elias and Edna Trimmer. She lived half her life in Newark before moving to Piscataway and spent the last three years as a resident in Aristacare at Norwood Terrace, Plainfield, sharing a room with her sister. Living in Newark she was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir and Altar Guild. Upon her move to Piscataway she became an active member of St. Francis Episcopal Church in Dunellen. Florence was predeceased by her husband, Edwin R. Meeker, Jr., sisters Eleanor Diggett and Elizabeth Haver. Surviving is her devoted sister, Norma Trimmer, loving nieces Lyla (Albert) Busler, Susan (Robert) Edwards, Janet (Edward) White and nephew Peter (Mary-Anne) Haver, seven grand nieces and nephews, and eight great-grand nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church and her remains will be placed in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden, NJ, alongside her beloved husband.
