Eleanor Schirripa Perina

Eleanor Perina age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Eleanor was born on June 20, 1932 in Calabria, Italy to the late Pasquale and Marianna (DeMartino) Schirripa and migrated to the United States in 1937, settling in North Plainfield, NJ. She married Anthony Perina in 1950 and remained in North Plainfield, where she raised her children. Eleanor worked many waitress jobs, but spent 25 years at Howard Johnsons, as head hostess. A very fun, loving, caring woman, her first and only priority was her family.

Eleanor is preceded by her husband, Anthony Perina Sr. in 1977 and a daughter Sandra Underwood in 2018. She is survived by a son, Anthony Jr. (Carolyn Deo) of Martinsville, NJ, two daughters, Debbie Falzone (Steve Parillo) of Martinsville NJ, Barbara Bryant (Ronald) of Hazlet, NJ, nine Grandchildren, John and Michael Underwood of PA, Deana Falzone of Martinsville, NJ, Denise Underwood-Basile (Luigi), of West Palm Beach, Fl, Alex and Adam Bryant of Hazlet, NJ, Kaitlyn, Danielle and Allison Deo of Martinsville and great-granddaughter Brianna Peczinka, of New Egypt, NJ, her beloved sister and family, Ida Riccardo of North Plainfield and many loving nieces and nephews.

Doors will open at 9:00 am Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home, 22 Craig Place, North Plainfield followed by a 10:00 am religious service. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Plainfield NJ. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 5 to 9 pm.
