Dianne M Phillips

Dianne Phillips (Puha), 70, of South Plainfield, NJ passed away on Saturday, February 12th surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Plainfield, NJ, Dianne resided in Flemington for the past two years enjoying the “country living” lifestyle. Prior to living in Flemington, she lived in Piscataway for five years and but spent majority of her life in North Plainfield where she resided for over 20 years.

Dianne was a graduate of South Plainfield High School, Class of 1969.

Dianne devoted her life to church and helping others. If she wasn’t at church or writing curriculums for Special Needs programs, she was spending her time fundraising for the American Cancer Society. When Dianne was not at work, you could find her crafting, gardening, reading books, den mothering, girl scout troop leading, relaxing on the beach, and enjoying motorcycle rides with her late husband, Stephen. Dianne was always willing to help those in need and served as a caregiver for her family and friends. She was a selfless person and always put others before herself and found joy in “counseling” those she loved over a warm meal at the kitchen table. But the one thing Dianne enjoyed the most was spending time with her loved ones.

She is preceded by her loving husband Stephen J. Phillips, and parents Irene and Charlie Puha.

She is survived by her children Stephen C. Phillips and wife Elyse of South Plainfield and Catherine Gifford and husband Greg of Forked River; her three sisters Marilyn Duke and husband Eviatar, Stephanie Demico, Jane Sheedy and husband Robbie, her brother Charlie Puha and wife Carol and many loving Poulakos and Puha/Blasczak family members, nieces and nephews and friends.

Services for Dianne are as follows: a viewing will be held on Thursday February 24th from 4-8pm at Scarpa Las Rosas Funeral home located on 22 Craig Place in North Plainfield, NJ. Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 25th at 10am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church located at 809 Hamilton Blvd in South Plainfield, NJ. Followed by Internment at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Ave in Scotch Plains, NJ.
