Carmen F. Rosa (1926 – 2018) – Retired Plainfield Police Officer

Carmen Rosa, 91, of Plainfield, N.J. passed away on February 20th, 2018 in Watchung.

Carmen Rosa was born in Plainfield, N.J. to Frank and Angelina Rosa. He attended Plainfield High School. Carmen retired from the Plainfield Police Department after 18 years of service. He was a veteran of WWII (Army) from 1944 to 1946 and was the recipient of various medals including WWII Victory Medal and the New Jersey Distinguished Medal of Honor. Carmen is survived by his siblings Theresa Krebs, Angelina Sullivan, Antoinette Giordano, Frances Rosa and Frank Rosa Jr. and their families. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be provided to Homeside Hospice, 67 Walnut Avenue Suite 205, Clark, NJ 07066. The family wishes to extend it’s sincere thanks to Brandywine Assisted Living in Watchung, Homeside Hospice, Home Care Assistance of Warren, Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerset and The Plainfield and Watchung Police Departments.

Visitation will be 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Scarpa-Las Rosas Funeral Home in North Plainfield with a religious service at 3:00 PM.
Burial will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday February 26, 2018 at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightsville, N.J.
