Bernard Grillo

Bernard “Benny” Anthony Grillo, of Toms River, ascended to heaven on April 7, 2021, after a brave battle with cancer.

Born November 17, 1948, in Plainfield, NJ to Michael and Marian (Ventura) Grillo.

He graduated from Plainfield High School and attended college, studying a passion of his---which he lived---a kind soul who worked tirelessly counseling and even sharing his home with those who were downtrodden and wayward.

He was a retired painting contractor who inherited a love of cooking and was known to cook charitably for large groups and early in life was a short-order cook.

Ben was predeceased by his parents, older brother Michael Grillo, and Nancy Grillo, sister-in-law.

Ben is survived by his sister Carol Ann Piscopo; brother-in-law Nicholas Piscopo; sister-in-law Maureen Grillo; his longtime love Cara Lembo, who was by his side throughout;nieces and nephews, and grandniece and grandnephews.

Services are private and a celebration of life will be held when the environment will allow.
