Anthony Ernest Rinaldi, Sr., 98 of Rome, PA rose up to God's arms on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Ernie, as known by everyone, was raised in North Plainfield, NJ and lived there most of his life before moving to Rome, PA in 1989. He was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Mary Rinaldi, his wife, Mary Jane and his partner, Kay Hovan, and siblings Victoria Finocchio and Gladys Spingola.
Ernie is survived by four children, Anthony Jr. (Melanie), James Rinaldi (Linda), Catherine Girandola (Joseph), and Mary Beth Polito (Louis), eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Ernie was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US 5th Army in Europe and North Africa. He was a volunteer of the North Plainfield Rescue Squad then employed for over twenty-five years with the North Plainfield Fire Department retiring at the rank of Captain. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Visitation/service will be held at Scarpa Las Rosas, 22 Craig Place, North Plainfield, NJ 07060 on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, from 10 am to 12 noon. Interment immediately follows at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
