Anthony Gerard Campo - “Tony” - from North Plainfield & Somerset, NJ, died at the age of 85 on Friday, May 11, 2018. Tony was born in Brooklyn, NY. As a “Pace-setter Legend”, he graduated with honors from Pace University in 1954. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army with honorable service. While stationed in Japan, he met his wife of 62 years, Osame (Kay) Campo, and they came to New Jersey to build a life together. Tony established a successful career as a retail executive, but loved his hobbies which included acting in local theater, collecting antiques, traveling with family, and continuing his love for drawing and writing. Upon his retirement, Tony enjoyed selling his unique collectibles on eBay and, as a movie buff, he developed an extensive collection of movies from all over the world. Tony was a devoted and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife Kay and two children, Deborah Metner (son-in-law Mickey) of North Plainfield, NJ, and Victoria Scott (son-in-law Gregory) of Bucks County, PA. Tony enjoyed his time with four grandchildren, Jaime and Adam Metner, Anthony Seratelli and Danyel Ross, and four great grandchildren, Corey and Dorian Mongiovi, and Layla and Davy Ross. Tony will also be greatly missed by his surviving siblings, Peter and Thomas Campo and Joanne Donnelly, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 9:00 am, at St. Joseph RC Church, 54 Jackson Avenue, N. Plainfield. There will be a repast brunch to follow for family and friends at Sheelan’s Bistro, 200 South Ave, Fanwood, NJ from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm.
